I’ve long been looking for the perfect place to dance the night away to the best tunes of the 90s. My music taste is varied – I like 90s garage as much as pop, Britpop, rock and trance.
The new night, held at the Laundry in E8, hosted by party experts Bourne & Hollingsworth (responsible for parties including the popular prohibition and blitz London events), has it all. Including Pac Man arcade games, Mario Kart, alcoholic slushies and a team of hair and make up artists to add the finishing touch to your 90s look – I had forgotten about the bindi trend.
Yes kids, tiny top knots were cool waaaaaay before the dawn of the man bun.
My only complaint would be that the DJ got a little scratch happy over Gansta’s Paradise. My anthem to the decade. But he soon made up for it by playing classics including Boom! Shake the room, Firestarter, No diggity and Common People. Next time – I’m wearing my denim dungarees and demanding the DJ play Spice Girls.
