Thanks to those annoying New Year adverts that attempt to make you feel fat and frumpy after a spot of indulging over Christmas, it is generally at this time of year that our thoughts turn to diets. I will be investing in a gym membership shortly, but why would you ever deny yourself a sweet treat every now and again? I have a huge soft spot for cupcakes. Often I bake at home, or visit the Buttercup bakery at Westfield or the Hummingbird Bakery in Notting Hill. I have also been lucky enough to try the delights of the famous Magnolia Bakery in New York (sorry, but they are indeed the best I have come across so far – worth the journey!).
2010 sees my friend Natalie open her own cupcake business. With promising flavours such as lively lemon and virtuous vanilla, dainty decorations and lots of buttercream it seems like a very sensible idea to me!
Described by Diana Henry (Sunday Telegraph as:
“The lightest, most satisfying, most achingly pretty cupcakes a girl could wish for. Estella cupcakes are almost too good to eat…”
