I’ve been a big fan of Liz Earle‘s cleanse and polish for years; ever since mum bought some in bulk after raving about it (check out their limited edition Christmas special version). I visited their own shop on the Isle of Wight earlier this year, and loved seeing all the products together – I’ve previously indulged my Liz Earle habit in John Lewis or from QVC. I was keen to try the perfume, there’s currently only one, Botanical Essence No.1 (50ml, £39.50).
Here’s what they say…
“For our first ever bespoke fragrance, we’ve used the finest natural botanical ingredients from around the world – including high-altitude lavender from France, damask rose from Turkey, Italian bergamot and spicy patchouli from Indonesia… to create this vibrant, sparkling fragrance translating into warmth and sensuality.”
And what do I think?
This perfume does exactly what it says on the tin. It is natural, fresh (without smelling of lemons) and easy to wear everyday. I would describe it as being similar to the calming and warming smells you experience in a spa, or when you have a massage. I have to be careful what perfume I wear as I can experience dermatitis, and get rashes when I use fragrances with too many chemicals (Esteé Lauder is particular no-no), but I experienced no adverse reaction to this, (no big surprise as 98% of the ingredients are derived from natural ingredients), I just got lots of compliments on how nice I smelt! Lovely stuff.
