Something for the weekend: The perfect red lip

In the fifth of our make up tutorial series from Bare Escentuals make up artist Elizabeth Hudson, she shows us how to pucker up and create the perfect red lip.
Christmas may be over but it doesn’t mean we can’t stop feeling festive, it is still winter after all & what better way to brighten up a pale complexion than with a sultry red lip – sophisticated & sexy! The new Pretty Amazing lip colour range from Bare Escentuals comes in a range of gorgeous, vibrant colours that last like a lip stain, with a moisturising feel and a glossy finish – substitute three of the products in your handbag for one!
TIP: Make sure your complexion is flawless, even, with not too much bronzer and a just hint of blush on the apples of the cheeks to really make the lips look clean & smart.
 1. Apply Bisque concealer (or foundation) over the lips to allow for a smooth clean base.
2. Using a lip liner that’s closest to or slightly warmer than the natural pigment of your lips, line the outer edge & then fill in the entire lips. This will help keep the colour strong & allow you to even out the edges of your lips so they appear fuller.
3. Apply Pretty Amazing lip colour in Strength (vibrant red) all over the lips from centre to corner, blot then reapply – luscious lips!
4. Team with a bare eye colour like Vanilla Sugar (soft peach) or Chic Nude (pale nude), a heavy coating of back eyeliner on the top lid, and plenty of black mascara. Define your eyebrows too for a real 1950’s classic look.
