This year’s must-see show, Alice’s Adventures Underground (or the child-friendly, daytime version; Adventures in Wonderland), is set in the fantastical arched Waterloo Vaults, underneath the station.
The sets are quite literally out of this world and you follow the action from Lewis Carroll’s ‘study’, through Tweedledum and Tweedledee’s playroom, to the Mad Hatter’s tea party. The sights and sounds are incredible – it’s worth taking a glance at the reactions of your fellow theatregoers.
The bar at the end serves cocktails and cakes and there are live music shows in the evenings.
Photo taking within the sets is prohibited (hooray!), so it shall remain a mystery until you visit. Which I highly recommend that you do.
